Dreaming of summer

A few weeks before Christmas I found five French children's books in a box saying 'please take' on the street.  They are not really textbooks, more the 'funformation' sort of books my grandmother used to give my brother and I for Christmas. Anyway, they have brilliantly 80s illustrations and I have scanned some of them to make digital collages. Here's the first. Creamy blue and sunshine yellow, a somersaulting girl and a wave of sound, bound by a neuron. It reminds me of a photo I took years and years ago on the shores of Lake Geneva, which I don't have a scan of but did describe on an old blog: here.

A weekend

My weekend really started on Friday with sledging at a reservoir and snowy walks.
On Saturday, what better way to combat the cold and slush than a trip to a favourite cafe with a friend?
(BTW this image totally makes 'You Give Love a Bad Name' run on repeat in my head...anyone else? 'Shot through the heart...'. No? Ooookkkkaaaaaay).
On Sunday I upped my vitamins with some juicing (a new obsession in our house) and in the evening took this photo from my window - the dirty London sodium-lit sky makes the scene look sepia somehow.

A shoot with the Voskoboynik family

Before Christmas I head over to the beautiful home of the Voskoboynik family to shoot some images of sweet baby Leon.

And here's the whole family, sporting some fabulous Christmas jumpers (anyone else still not over the fact that Christmas is done for another year?)

A New Year

 Well, hello.
I have got a bit slack lately both with posting and with pursuing all those more creative personal projects. One of my New Year's resolutions is to post at least once a week, and to start sharing some more collage, painting, printing and scan projects (which I dabble in but don't often post here).
So here's my resolution post, there'll be another tomorrow about the recent client work I've shot, and then I will be on the road to fresh new pastures. At least, that's the plan.

Above are images from my Christmas, in Maidenhead, Essex, and Oxford. It was jolly and I'm still sulking it's all over.
