Vernon God Little Redux

So...Vernon God Little opens tonight at the Young Vic, and so I'm able to show the images I captured of the actor playing the eponymous anti-hero. (You may remember I was embargoed!) Below are my favourite and the image they chose to use.

It's also interesting shooting these kinds of press / promotional images because the venues are liable to use them as a starting point rather than a finished product. Below is the end result, drawing on the marketing image.

Not new but lovely (though I say so myself)...

This one's a leftover from Christmas Eve that didn't quite match the feel of the others I posted that day and the day after. There'll be more catching-up posts later in the week with some images from my Vernon God Little and Villains shoots. Then hopefully my traditional January hibernation will be over and there'll be new work to see! 

Casting shadows

Long low light, rain and gloom this weekend got me in a Chicago noir sort of mood...femme fatales and streetlights, movie theaters and mysterious camera-wielding gumshoes. Or, top-bottom the abandoned City, Trafalgar Square twice, Anna Leach, Trafalgar Square, the ICA.

Things I saw yesterday

Dead wasp / Madonna and Child / Eighties' pin-up Sam Fox. Is this the only occasion in history where those three things have been put together? 

Pink pots of rose tea and piles of clotted cream

Tea and scones yesterday with Hermione Hoby, at High Tea in Highgate. 

I don't usually mess with Photoshop too much, but the whole place was so sugary sweet and vintage charming I thought I'd attempt that Hipstomatic - faux vintage look. Even allowing for the vile things that Blogspot and sRGB profiles do to colour balances I'm not totally happy with the look. Any hints or tips?
