Tumblr Town

Yesterday Lisa acted as my stand-in for some lighting tests ahead of my photoshoot on Sunday. Feeling silly (who, us?!), we decided to try and create the perfect Tumblr shots when we were done with the tests. Results are below. Yes! Overexposed. Yes! Ever so slightly out-of-focus. Yes! Pouty and with middle distance stare. Yes! Feather in hair and floaty dress. Yes! Bokeh. (If it had been full length, you'd have seen that she was also pigeon-toed). HOWEVER...isn't it actually rather gorgeous? Obviously the fact that Lisa is extremely beautiful helps the lovely atmosphere, but who wouldn't like to live in perpetual sunshine in a wooded glade?
No wonder so many people want to visit Tumblr Town, even if real life looks nothing like it. Lisa's blog, Hawk and Fallow, is here.

Megan's Balloons...

...it's not a euphemism! Megan was making some community art with beautiful LED-lit balloons as part of her research post at the RCA. The event took place at Arnold Circus in Shoreditch, which was an unexpectedly lovely place to spend an evening. Loads of local people turned out and we all enjoyed the unusual activity of drawing your face on a shiny squeaky moving surface. There were balloon-shaped biscuits too! (I forgot to take pictures of those, sadface)
 There were hipsters....
 And kids playing...

 And lovers...
And here's organiser Megan...
 And sparkles...
 And wildlife...
 And light...
 Of all sorts.

Night walk

Some snaps from a late-night walk through a local retail park. I don't love them because had to hand-hold due to the camera being a last minute decision and thus no tripod, thus loads of noise. But might go back another time. It was like exploring a whole other place from the park as it is in the daylight.

Feels like summer...

...even though we're officially on the downturn of the year...I think I'm especially holiday-minded since I found myself writing the phrase 'I think I'm going to be away for most of August' in a message today...what? Smug? Me? NEVER.
